We always encourage guests to make use of local shops to keep the local economy healthy and to support independent traders.

Eating out

As well as the essential fish and chips, most pubs serve food, and almost every village has at least one.  We have frequented the Fox and Hounds at Dale House for at least 3 generations, but our guests have also praised the Tiger Inn at Easington and the Badger Hounds just over the road.  However, we rarely have a poor experience wherever we go.
There are restaurants in Staithes and Whitby, with plenty of fish on the menu.  The Magpie has a great reputation, but many less well known restaurants are equally excellent.
